Abuse, Neglect & Exploitation Prevention

Arkansas DSPs are mandated reporters and must recognize and respond to all forms of maltreatment. ANE is a required topic area but is often covered superficially in orientation. This course defines every form of abuse, teaches you to recognize behavioral and physical signs in individuals with IDD, walks through the reporting chain, and includes the toughest scenario: when a co-worker may be the alleged perpetrator. **What you will learn:** • Define physical, emotional, sexual, and financial abuse; neglect; and exploitation • Recognize behavioral and physical signs of maltreatment in individuals with IDD • Understand the reporting chain and mandatory reporter obligations • Navigate situations where a co-worker may be the alleged perpetrator • Understand agency policies for documentation during investigations
