AR-CDSP I — Foundation

The foundation tier of the Arkansas CHART pathway. AR-CDSP I is the entry credential that establishes core direct-support competency for new and re-entering DSPs working under the Community and Employment Supports (CES) Waiver. Built on Arkansas Total Care requirements and validated against NADSP core competencies, the Foundation course gives every new hire the same baseline — ethical practice, person-centered support, documentation, EVV, safety, and the basics of supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. **What you will learn:** • Apply the NADSP Code of Ethics and AcuityCare professional standards in daily practice • Document services to Arkansas Total Care's CES standards (notes, EVV, incidents) • Support people with IDD using person-centered, strengths-based language • Recognize abuse, neglect, and exploitation and act as a mandated reporter • Apply universal precautions and basic emergency response • Read and follow a Person-Centered Service Plan (PCSP/ISP) • Build the foundation needed to progress into AR-CDSP II — Proficiency
